1. Tibetan Golden Temple
First stop and already worth the drive. The Namdroling Monastery is one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist temples in India; it is gold-painted, peaceful, and genuinely breathtaking early in the morning.
2. River Rafting
If you’re up for some adrenaline, the Barapole river rafting is Grade 4. It’s fast, thrilling, and honestly one of the best things to do in Coorg. Optional but highly recommended.
3. Dubare Elephant Camp
Get up close with elephants, feed them, watch them bathe in the river, or just stand there and take it all in. One of those experiences that stays with you.
4. Chiklihole Dam
Water on all sides, no noise, no rush. After a busy morning, this place hits different. Take a few pictures, breathe it in, and move on feeling lighter.
5. Madikeri Fort
Built in the 17th century, Madikeri Fort sits right in the heart of Coorg’s main town. Walk through the museum, soak in the history, and get a feel for old Kodava life.
6. Omkareshwara Temple
A unique temple that blends Gothic and Islamic architecture, dedicated to Lord Shiva, with a quiet pond outside that makes the whole setting feel timeless.
7. Raja’s Tomb
This is the final resting place of the Kodava dynasty rulers and is built in Indo-Saracenic style. Quiet, well-maintained, and worth a quick stop for anyone who appreciates history.
8. Abbey Falls
Tucked inside coffee plantations, Abbey Falls is one of those spots that genuinely takes your breath away. Walk across the hanging bridge and stand as close as you dare.
9. Raja’s Seat
End the day here, a hilltop garden with one of the best sunset views in Coorg. You can pick some local spices at the market nearby before heading back to Mysore.
